“Have you not read the latest German-language issue of the municipal newspaper where this was clearly laid out..? Well, it’s not quite as bad - national park airspace restructions don’t reach FL300+ in Austria. Still, imagine how fun it would be to have international pilots go through pages and pages of Austrian laws and regulations.

According to the Chicago Convention, ICAO member-states should mutually recognize pilot’s licenses. But since 2022, pilots with residency in the EU are required to hold both an FAA license and an EASA member-state license to fly N-registered aircraft in the EU. Why?
