About

I am Michael, currently a PhD student at ETH Zurich and Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland.
I am also a private pilot, homebased at Innsbruck Airport (LOWI) in the Austrian Alps.

On this blog, I am collecting my (very) occasional writings on general aviation and air law.

The initial posts were born out of frustration at the poor (and confusing) documentation of the process for obtaining an FAA pilot certificate based on an existing EASA member-state license. I hope that my summaries will be helpful to other pilots and users intereted in general aviation.
